Our agency was formed by John Hildreth in 1976. In 2003, John was joined by his son, Heath. For the Hildreths, insurance is a fourth-generation calling: both John’s father and grandfather were insurance professionals.
As a general agent we have access to the majority of available insurance markets. Since we offer both Property & Casualty and Life & Health lines of coverage, we are a one-stop shop for many individuals and businesses.
We are inspired by multiple generations in the insurance profession to maintain long and healthy relationships with our clients.

Principal / Agent
John H. Hildreth, CLU
John, founder of the Hildreth Agency, has been in the insurance business for more than 40 years. His agency has a diverse mix of personal and commercial lines consisting of large and small cases. John enjoys developing and servicing insurance programs for his large number of professional clientele. He is a University of Tennessee graduate, a chartered life underwriter, and holds an insurance producer license in the state of Tennessee and the majority of states across the country.
Principal / Agent
Heath Hildreth, GBDS
Heath has been with the Hildreth Agency for over 20 years. His knowledge of the field encompasses disability, life, and health. As a measure of his focus on group disability plan development, marketing, and administration, Heath has held the Group Benefit Disability Specialist Designation for 15 years. He has had extensive involvement in the agency’s large case business. Heath is a University of Virginia graduate and holds an insurance producer license in the state of Tennessee.
Senior Account Manager
Jaclyn Slack, MBA
Jaclyn has been with the Hildreth Agency for 12 years. She oversees the state-wide UT student health insurance account, individual and group health insurance, billing, and assists with group disability insurance. Jaclyn received her bachelor’s degree from the University of Tennessee and a master’s degree from Tennessee Tech University.
Office Manager and Senior Account Manager
Lauren Fillers
Lauren has been with the Hildreth Agency for 12 years. She oversees the administration of group benefits, malpractice coverage, individual life, disability, and long-term care products. Lauren is a University of Tennessee graduate.
Personal Lines Senior Account Manager
Vita Malcolm
Vita has been with the Hildreth Agency for 28 years. She oversees the agency’s Personal Lines products including home, auto, umbrella, watercraft, motorcycle, and flood. With extensive product knowledge, she has established long standing client relationships and provided personalized insurance recommendations, service, and claims consultation. Vita is a University of Tennessee graduate.
Senior Account Manager
Sarah Montgomery
Sarah has been with the Hildreth Agency for 10 years. She manages Commercial accounts including business owners, workers compensation, bonds, and group health insurance. She also assists with the Student Health account to ensure that the University of Tennessee students, parents, and athletes have one less stressful thing to worry about. Sarah is a University of Tennessee graduate and a loyal Vols fan.
Assistant Account Manager
Jenna Ford
Jenna is an East Tennessee State University graduate and has been with the Hildreth Agency since December 2022. She is assisting with the day-to-day operations of account management, including but not limited to, long-term care, disability and group benefit policy implementation.
Receptionist
Alyssa Pickrell
Alyssa is a Texas native who moved to Tennessee in the summer of 2022. Alyssa assists with day-to-day operations with the UT Student Health Program. Alyssa holds an associate’s degree from Florida College.
